A fervent, warp-sworn HQ choice for the Word Bearers Legion
Builds Zardu Layak and his two twisted, warp-infused bodyguards
Bind souls with foul sorcery and empower your corrupted forces
This resin modelling kit is a collectible item and construction should only be undertaken by expert Warhammer hobbyists aged 15 years and over
Zardu Layak's true name is now lost, but he was once a devout believer in the Imperial Truth, sending countless temples and holy books to the flames. Shamed and sickened by the XVII Legion's brutal censure at Monarchia, he descended into madness and embraced the Primordial Truth - growing in both power and forbidden wisdom. Now known by a name that means 'Eater of Wisdom', the Crimson Apostle of the Word Bearers walks his bloody path accompanied by a pair of bodyguards - his Blade Slaves, unnaturally warped Astartes possessed of daemonic strength, who cut a swathe through their master's foes with a barely controlled hunger for slaughter.
This multipart resin kit builds one Zardu Layak - the Crimson Apostle of the Word Bearers Legion - and his two attendant Blade Slaves. Zardu Layak is a fiendish warrior-priest, wearing highly-detailed artificer armour strung with pages, scrolls, and complete tomes of profane wisdom - his ruinous allegiance fully proclaimed by his horned, six-eyed daemonic war-mask and the infernal brazier mounted to his chest. He wields the Azurda Char’is - a corrupted force staff etched with eldritch sigils. His Blade Slave bodyguards are hulking figures, their armour sculpted with XVII Legion decorations, etched with Colchisian sigils, and visibly cracking apart as it fails to contain the daemonic power and mutating flesh within. Each is armed with a warpfire pistol and an Anakatis blade - the occult, pseudo-organic weapons that were used to create them.
This kit comprises 15 resin components, presented in a black Horus Heresy Character Series box, and is supplied with 1x Citadel 32mm Round Base and 2x Citadel 40mm Round Bases. These miniatures are supplied unpainted and require assembly - we recommend using Citadel Colour paints.
